Hi everyone! We hope you are resting well at home and having the most wonderful time with family and friends. Here are some recaps and updates as we finished up the semester strong!

1. Crossing Screening led by Meena Park: What a touching story. We learned more about how North Koreans lived in North Korea and how they escaped. Thanks to all who came out and hope everyone had a great time. If you haven’t gotten the chance to watch it yet, you can watch it on youtube!

2. Escaping North Korea led by Heejung Chang and William Yen: As a ‘A Step Into Asia (ASIA)’ event, LiNK took students on a trail of how LiNK helps rescue the North Korean refugees hiding in China.

3. Hot Chocolate in the Pit: Thank you to everyone who volunteered to sit out in the cold to spread awareness about LiNK with a warm cup of hot chocolate!Image

4. Meena Park as the new LiNK Co-Fundraising Chair: Let’s welcome Meena into our exec board as she continues to grow as a leader at UNC. During her summer in South Korea, she actively got involved with a program called PSCORE. Within the program, Meena tutored a 15-year old girl who escaped from North Korea a year before. While teaching English and Math, Meena learned a lot about North Korea. From this experience, North Korea remained in her heart as she came back to UNC. Welcome to LiNK Exec, Meena!
